Who Are We?

Bryan Beaty is the brains behind Black Lab Creative. Over the last two decades, Bryan has developed a reputation as a communications strategist, specializing in strategic messaging, crisis communications and executive communications.
Realizing his passion for public relations at an early age, Bryan has always felt comfortable working with the public, communicating on behalf of others and building mutually beneficial relationships between diverse groups of people. His career has spanned agricultural interests, not for profit organizations, higher education institutions and law enforcement, providing strategic communications counsel to senior executives on their messaging and communications efforts.
Bryan leverages his unique combination of experiences to engage media, work with internal and external stakeholders, tell compelling client stories, and help shape public perception on behalf of clients spanning numerous industries and focus areas.
He is a lifelong resident of St. Lucie County (Florida) where he participated in 4-H and local agriculture efforts while growing up. A graduate of the University of Florida, Bryan has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education and Communications, a degree that combined his love for Florida agriculture and communications. He began his career in communications as a marketing assistant for the Florida Agriculture in the Classroom program and the Florida Agricultural Institute. He went on to work at Indian River Community (now State) College after graduating from UF in 2003 and has worked to develop employee training programs, served as the Executive Assistant to the college president writing speeches, developing presentations, coordinating special events and overseeing state legislative affairs. In 2009, Bryan graduated with a Master's Degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University and took over the marketing and media relations efforts for IRSC's 50-acre Treasure Coast Public Safety Training Complex. He is an adjunct instructor in Public Administration courses at the baccalaureate level and has designed four courses in the Quality Matters online course format. These include Policy Development and Implementation, Public Budgeting and Finance, State and Local Government and Public Relations in the Public Sector.
In 2015, Bryan became a Florida-certified law enforcement officer and was hired by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office as the agency's Public Information Officer. In this role, Bryan was responsible for the strategic communications of the agency, including daily media inquiries related to crime in St. Lucie County and cases under investigation by the agency, managing the agency’s social media presence and website and publishing a variety of documents that include brochures, flyers, newsletters and annual reports. Bryan thrives in crisis situations and has worked with national and international media on cases involving the Orlando Pulse Nightclub Shooter and a firebombing of a local Islamic Mosque.
Bryan is a credentialed Public Information Officer by the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Commission on Credentialing, a DHS-FEMA Master Public Information Officer, and teaches for FEMA's Emergency Management Institute. He is a member of the Treasure Coast Hospice Board of Directors and the National Information Officer Association.

Boone is the image behind Black Lab Creative. He's a black lab that Bryan rescued from a shelter in Boone, North Carolina as a 10-week-old puppy. He loves car rides and boat trips and enjoys lounging in the yard or swimming in anything with two-inches or more water.
After a short battle with cancer, Boone passed away in April of 2018.

Sadie is the energy behind Black Lab Creative. She is a Fox Red Lab that Bryan rescued from a shelter in Ocala, Florida. She loves to play fetch, chase lizards, aggravate her brother and snuggle in the bed.

Gracie is the personality behind Black Lab Creative. She is best friends with Boone and Sadie and provides much of the quality control for our creative efforts. If Gracie doesn't like it, it gets changed. She never holds back and is brutally honest. She loves to have sleep overs with her friends and get away with everything her mom and dad won't usually allow.

Tucker is the fun behind Black Lab Creative. He is new to the family but was quickly taken in by Sadie and Gracie and is a constant source of fun for anyone he's around.
